Gorland Mar
Director of Publications
Gorland Mar pursued fine arts as an undergraduate at Oklahoma State, earning his BFA at Phillips University in his hometown of Enid, Oklahoma. Soon after graduation, Gorland landed at TCU in 1992 — in the days when pasting up was still the standard. An illustrator, he has delved into every aspect of University publications, now serving as director of the department. Gorland and his wife, Rhealene, have two young children, Austin and Olivia.

Allie
Regan
Assistant Director of Publications
Allie has more than two decades of design experience with corporate communications systems, branding, advertising, collateral, packaging, trade shows, annual reports, direct mail and other promotional material. At TCU she is the creative developer for all admission publications, for which she has earned numerous CASE awards, as well as a variety of other publications and viewbooks for other departments and schools, including the School of Music and the Schieffer School of Journalism. Prior to TCU, she worked for Tandy Corporation, Fossil Watches and Main Station Advertising. Allie has won numerous design awards with CASE, the DSVC and the AD Club of Fort Worth. She holds a bachelor degree in graphic design from the University of Texas-Arlington and is working on an MFA at Texas Women’s University.

John
Maddox
Senior Art Director
John began his career at TCU in 1988. Since then, John has helped produce more than 1,400 publications. His experience includes logo and branding design, brochures, catalogs, magazine advertising and posters. Prior to TCU, John worked with Graphics 2 and Hanson Printing. He has been involved in over 50 award winning designs from several university associations. He holds a bachelor’s degree from Texas Tech University.

Tracy Sterling Bristol
Art Director
Tracy is an art director and writer who holds a BFA in advertising design from TCU, where she was a Nordan Fine Arts Scholar and the national winner of the Nissan Student Advertising Contest. She has worked at a number of advertising agencies creating print and broadcast work for national brands including Quaker Oats, Johnson & Johnson and Satellite Sports Network.
In addition to running an advertising consulting business, Sterling Creative, she has dabbled in television graphics, fine art painting, teaching art, and costume design. She has won awards for all of the aforementioned. For six years, Tracy has designed and written for The TCU Magazine and created award-winning work for departments across campus. A native Texan, Tracy has a husband, two teenagers, three dogs and a pony.

Henri Etta Kilgore
Administrative Assistant
Henri Etta has been managing the budget for Marketing & Communication (and its precursor Department of Communications & Public Affairs) since 1980. She also contributes to the work flow of the Publications office and the Editorial Services office. Prior to TCU, she served in public and private school education and in church music education. Henri Etta earned a bachelor’s degree from Ouachita Baptist University and has attended numerous classes at TCU, Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary and TCU’s Brite Divinity School. She enjoys an active writing and teaching career and she keeps busy attending performances and activities of talented family members.
